Faro is our closest airport, within a one hour car ride away. Airport transfers are available for you that will drop you right at our doorstep or you can take the public transport.
If you opt for public transport, here is what you would need to do:
- Take an Uber (around 7€) or bus number 16 (around 3€) from the airport to the “Terminal Rodoviario” (Faro bus station). www.proximo.pt/uploads/schedules/linha_16_9.pdf
- Walk to the train station, only 2 minutes away.
- Buy a ticket to Lagos (around 7.50€), the staff will tell you which platform you should go to. You can check the schedules here: www.cp.pt/passageiros/pt but buying the ticket in advance is not necessary, there is always plenty of space available.
There are direct buses Sevilla - Lagos daily for around 20€.
Check the schedule here www.alsa.com/web/bus/home and book your tickets in advance if you can, as there are not that many times available.
The journey takes between 4 and 5 hours and will drop you off at Lagos Bus Station.
As Lisbon is Portugal’s capital city, there are plenty of flights coming in and out of this airport, so this might be a good option if you can’t find affordable flights to Faro.
There are trains and buses going to Lagos daily for around 20€.
The closest train station to the airport is Oriente and can be reached by the underground system. There are a few other train stations in Lisbon so if you are not coming from the airport, check the one closest to you.
You can get discounted prices on the train tickets if you buy it in advance, but make sure you leave plenty of time between your landing time and your train departure here www.cp.pt/passageiros/pt
